CHEF PAULIE O'CONNOR
For more than 30 years, award-winning chef and restaurateur, Paulie O’Connor, has injected a level of quality and skill into his craft that is second to none. His love for food and feeding people ensures each and every customer he serves will experience a meal unlike any other. O’Connor opened his first restaurant, the Old Yellowstone Garage (or OYG, as hungry locals would call it) in Jackson Hole, WY, in the early 2000s; he relocated OYG to Alpine, WY, several years later and the locals were more than happy to make the drive. He later took over operations at the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse, where he elevated the classic steakhouse menu to include real world Italian cuisine paired with expertly-trimmed and perfectly cooked steaks. His reputation in Jackson Hole as a top-level chef and restaurateur remains in the community still today.
With the success of his past driving him forward, O’Connor is thrilled to announce to opening of his latest concept in Phoenix, AZ – Gabeesh. Gabeesh is a mobile catering company that boasts a menu of Old World Italian recipes fused with a savvy street food mentality. Whether you see us at a farmers market, on a local sidewalk, or at your next big gathering, we will take you on a culinary journey. We use only the finest quality, locally-sourced ingredients for our house-made pastas, cheeses, and sausages, as well as the dough for our Sicilian and New York-style pizzas. The same fine ingredients are used in our homemade cannolis, budinos, and tiramisu. We take great pride in our work at Gabeesh and strive to share our love and passion for the art of cooking with you.
Chef O’Connor graduated from Culinary Institute of America in 1999. He was a top 20 semi-finalist for the James Beard Award for Best Chef of the Northwest back in 2011. He also appeared in an episode of the Food Network’s Everyday Italian show hosted by Giada de Laurentiis, Grill Dad’s on Bravo, and casting calls for “Chopped” & “Top Chef”.
